How to write an essay in task 2 of IELTS writing?


Many people follow the structure for a better band score. For example, Paraphrase, thesis, firstly/ first of all, secondly, to conclusion / in conclusion in the order. Some people insist on following various essay structures such as Paraphrase, thesis, On the one hand, on the other hand, to conclusion / in conclusion. But if you are studying with a 9 band score as your goal, there is no need to follow such structures. It is enough to write by connecting the topic correctly. That is, you should write IELTS writing by connecting it correctly. Before thinking about how to write Task 2, you should briefly know some things about IELTS writing.

Next is the conclusion part, three things should be noted in the conclusion part. That is, try to write it in three sentences.

2 Summarize main argument

3 Your thoughts about this topic

First, if we say Restate your thesis, it means to write your opinion, view, and position in a nutshell.

Second, if we say Summarize main arguments, it means to summarize the points mentioned in the first and second body paragraphs. While summarizing, do not try to write the main points mentioned in both paragraphs exactly, that is, do not repeat and write. Make small changes and write.

While summarizing, there may be changes in the writing based on the question. Only by practicing this more, we will be able to understand that difference.

Thirdly, you should write your thought about this topic. Try to write this in a single sentence, that is, your prediction, long-term view, suggestion, or general statement about this topic based on the question. These are the things that come in the conclusion part.

Let me summarize again

1 Introduction part, paraphrase, thesis.

2 In body paragraph, support point/bullet point, example with explanation, summarize.

In conclusion part, restate your thesis, summarize main arguments, your thoughts about this topic. If you try to coordinate these correctly and write a link, you will get at least above 7.5 bandscore. Moreover, when you write an essay including all these things, it will not go above 250 words.
